Coin Inspection and Attribution Service

I offer a Coin Inspection and Attribution Service.  Send in your coins to be examined. I will quantify weights and measures, offer my opinion on grade, estimate market value, and determine any error or variety that can be attributed.  The idea is to help people identify their coins, get an opinion on what it is, and some idea of what it is worth in order to make a more informed decision as to their next step to take.  This is designed to be an inexpensive alternative to more formal third party submission services.  At 5 bucks per coin this is not a money maker or the backbone of my enterprise.  It's meant to help you out and cover some of my incidental expenses in the process.

SEND
-Up to 24 coins, preferably in an unplasticized vinyl 2x2 flip.  Any plastic flip will do.
-A message so I know they are coming.  Send a tracking number if you have one.
-Payment.  $5/coin + return shipping (see below).  Alternately, I can bill you via Paypal.

SHIPPING
Stuffing a coin in an envelope and slapping a stamp across the top is not the best method for sending coins through the mail.  Better results will be found with an extra 21¢ for non-machinable postage.   The ideal would be a stiff package with a padded coin.
In this video I offer some pro tips:

I will ship the coins back to you via USPS 1st Class shipping with tracking.  The shipping fee is $4 for up to 8 coins.  At 9 coins or more I move up to Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box, $8.00.  I can send you a Paypal invoice for the inspection fees plus return shipping by whatever method you desire.  If you don't send enough to ship them back, they don't get shipped back.

Multiple Coins
The cost of shipping is beyond my control.  Getting more value for the same shipping can be done by submitting several coins at a time.  A #10 SASE will hold 3 cents/dimes, 2 quarters/nickels or a half dollar.  A 1st Class envelope will hold up to 9 smaller coins.  Over 9 coins will require a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box.  The inspection fee is $5/coin.  You will send me an email so I know how many of What is coming.

Payment Options
I accept concealed cash for up to $10, Postal Money Order for any amount, and can send you a Paypal invoice which will allow you to pay with a credit card.  Minimum Paypal invoice is $8.

By sending your coin you agree to accept any and all risk involved.  With regular mail, you accept the risk that it may never arrive and you may never see the coin again.  You accept any damage which may occur during transit.  Since you don't know me, you accept the risk that I might be a crook trying to swindle you.

I will look at the coin.  I will attempt to identify the series, date, mintmark, design variety, and if possible offer my opinion of grade and die variety or error where applicable.  I will offer my estimate of market value, if there be any.

I make no guarantees that my opinion is accurate or has any bearing in the numismatic community.  I make no guarantees regarding market value.  I can't even guarantee that your coin will make it back to you.  All I can do is offer my reputation that I will give you the best opinion I can.

If you do not agree with my opinion, there is no refund, no resubmitting the coin for another opinion (to me at least), no recourse, and no cause of action.

I am not offering my opinion on photos of your coin.

Feel free to contact me regarding this service to discuss arrangements:
